I almost didn’t want to write this post. October has been, if possible, even more worky than September was, including a couple of six day work weeks. Complaining about work is boring. Being exhausted is not awesome. Let’s look around and see if we can find anything that is decidedly awesome!
We spent a much needed evening indulging ourselves at Home Bar following a long hot day working at Aloun Farms. I did get to eat some pretty outrageous pumpkin ice cream, though. On Halloween night, we dressed up as Bert Macklin and Janet Snakehole and took a stroll through Waikiki, along with all the other crazy kids in their crazy costumes. Today I’m nursing blisters from my thrift store shoes, but it was so fun.
We’ve spent most of our evenings watching Star Trek and Falling Skies, but I also finally watched Her, and it was even better than I expected. The colors in this film are enough to make it worth watching, but the performances were breathtaking as well. It stayed with me for days. If you haven’t seen it yet, you definitely have to check it out.
The internet has been blowing up with pumpkin awesomeness, like this over the top Pumpkin Bavarian Crepe Cake from Sprinkle Bakes. That could be heaven.
Then The Domestic Rebel had to go and post this outrageous Pumpkin Bread which looks like it might actually be the best ever. Make it happen.
You know I can never say no to cheese. When I saw this Baked Brie with Balsamic Rosemary Cranberry Sauce from Sarcastic Cooking, I think all my dreams came true.
Though it was hard to find the time and energy to do the things I love the most, I did manage to make you some awesomely good eats. Here’s what you were into.
You know what’s good, and what’s good is Pumpkin Cake. That frosting is undeniable. Can’t stop won’t stop.
Pumpkin is also great in a glass with booze. Cheers to Pumpkin Spice White Russians.
You’re feeling fancy, and you’re feeling a little bit English. Your favorite post was Fancy Pants Sausage Rolls with Ham and Cheddar. You’re all a bunch of geniuses.
November and December are two of our busiest months at work, but they’re also two of my favorite months for food. I can’t wait to share what I’m eating and loving, and find out about all the awesome stuff happening in your world. Let’s make it happen.
