The planet Mercury rules communication, logic, travel, and the mental realm. I've got 13 herbs for Mercury energy that will help you sharpen your mind and speak more clearly.
In witchcraft and astrology, the planet Mercury is associated with the element of air and rules over the mind, logic, communication, and travel. Named for the Roman messenger god Mercury, very similar to Hermes in Greek mythology, this planet also has a bit of trickester energy.
Because Mercury is most talked about when the planet is retrograde, it can have a bad reputation for causing havoc. But Mercury can actually be a wonderful aid in helping us think and speak more clearly.
Spells honoring Mercury are best performed on a Wednesday. If you speak a Romance language, this will be obvious. Of course, we can use images or figures of the god Mercury in our spellwork, but we can also add herbs ruled by Mercury to our spells to represent the energy of this intelligent planet.
