I’m bringing you 20 awesome backyard BBQ recipes today. Fire up the grill, gather who you can, and feast in the sunshine.
I’ve been smelling disposable barbecues all around my neighborhood lately. People are gathering with their households in the tiny shared back gardens of their tenement flats and grilling because ever day of sunshine is precious in Scotland.
But I know the kind of sad food that often gets dished out when people suddenly decide to grill, and I’m on a mission to end that. Don’t eat pre-formed hamburgers and store-bought mushy potato salad. We can do better than that.
I’ve got 20 recipes for you, including burgers, sides, drinks, and even some easy, portable, non-melty desserts for your next backyard gathering or pool side party. Even if it’s just the people you live with, they deserve the best.
The sun’s out. That means people are thirsty. I am not remotely opposed to good bottled drinks in a bucket of ice. I think it’s a great way to make things easier on the host. When people who don’t cook ask what to bring, maybe suggest a selection of fruity ciders or fancy sodas.
If you want to make your own drink though, I’ve got you covered.

People think they don’t like potato salad because all they’ve had is that mushy stuff that’s mostly mayonnaise that comes in a bucket from the grocery store deli. I’ve got some truly awesome side salads for you. You’ll actually want to go back for more.
