Awesome in March

Awesome in March

Well, my husband just told me that he paid for another year of hosting for my site, so I guess you have to go on reading my self-indulgent blathering for a little while longer. I tried hard to quit, but he wouldn’t let me. At the moment, I have a screaming headache and my level of self-loathing is approaching legendary status, so let’s dig deep, kids, and find the awesome.

March came in like a tough little lamb with the promise of sunshine despite the harsh bite to the air. We celebrated our wedding anniversary by putting on our wedding clothes and eating greasy American food. It’s a little tricky to be conspicuous in a wedding dress in a place where there aren’t brides on the beach every night of the week. I did it anyone. If that’s not awesome, I don’t know what is.

After that, I promptly got sick, which means I’ve been indulging in all the comfort food I’ve ever wanted since then. One of these days I’m going to have to share the amazing burger deals on Tuesday nights at Bloc+.  It’s a great little midweek treat.

Eating Out: Paesano Pizza

We went to a few other great restaurants as well, including Paesano Pizza. We also played hometown tourist over the Easter weekend. I was pleasantly surprised by the St. Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art. It was much cooler than I anticipated, and it’s free. It’s definitely worth a visit if you haven’t been before.

My favorite foods on the internet were all clearly in the comfort food category. I’m clearly a person currently in need of a lot of love. Or maybe a kick in the ass.

This Burrata Breakfast Pizza from How Sweet It Is is completely gorgeous and has so many of my favorite things, including sexy egg yolks.

When I saw this Easy Cinnamon Roll Cake from Cookies and Cups, I kind of wanted to eat my screen. You guys! Need!

Salty Dawgs from The Sugar Hit are sort of everything. Malted chocolate plus salted caramel? I told you. Everything.

Buffalo Chicken Pinwheels are still going strong. Start out with that Transformer Chicken to make it even awesomer.

March is out like a lion, and I’m feeling the claws. Let’s all try to be a little kinder to ourselves in April. Let’s feel the warmth and share the growth with the universe because there’s no going back. All we can do is get more and more awesome every day. And you know we’re better together. Stay strong, kids. Stay awesome.
