Awesome in November

Friends, we’re nearly through one of the weirdest years of our lives. Let’s take a look at what was awesome in November because even with everything we’ve been through this year, we truly have so much to be thankful for.

Awesome in November with a crow in a street light

The start of this month was such a roller coaster of emotions. I was more stressed on election day than I can remember being in a very long time. The four day wait that followed was no picnic either. I still remain astonished by how close the election was, but I’m so relieved that we’ll be swearing in a new President in January. We’ve got work to do, and we at least now have someone who will listen and not just constantly want to talk about himself.

And of course, the announcement of multiple successful vaccine trials has given me hope that I might be able to see my child next year and go to a place I’ve never been before. Hope is stirring in this beautiful terrible world of ours. Maybe we can turn this ship around.

We’ve not been able to get out of the house much this month as restrictions have become increasingly tightened in Glasgow. But this week, my kitchen is getting destroyed, so maybe next month I’ll have some good takeaway recs for you.

Awesome internet food

November is peak home-cooking season (at least in my home country). It’s non-stop Thanksgiving comfort in the food blog world, and I’m here for it.

Joy made us a Pumpkin Pasta Dinner with Sausage and Goat Cheese, and I want the whole pot to myself.

Jon is always a mash up genius, and these Buffalo Bacon Mashed Potatoes are no exception. Mashed potatoes are one of my all-time favorite foods. This is just ridiculous.

Lindsay’s over here just casually whipping up Chocolate Pumpkin Pots de Creme. Pretty sure you’ll want to scrape up every last bit.

Black Pudding Hash

Whipped Ricotta, Cranberry Glazed Turkey Meatloaf, and Black Pudding Hash were your favorite recipes this month. Honorable mention goes to a resurgence of Quarantine Cookies.

It warms my heart every time I imagine people letting go of the lie that they actually like roast turkey and opting for turkey meatloaf instead. You won’t regret it.

December is my birthday and Christmas, and a big fat break from work. I can’t wait. No matter what else this year brings, we’ll make it awesome.
