    Herbs in Witchcraft - Bananas

Bananas are one of the most commonly eaten fruits in the world today, but this common afternoon snack also has strong magical properties. Let me show you how to use bananas in witchcraft.

Honestly, I'm not much of banana fan myself, but you have to admit, this fruit has certainly become ubiquitous around the world. For something that only grows in tropical climates, it can be found in the fruit baskets of people all across the globe. Bananas are a healthy, portable, and convenient snack.

But just like everything has its own unique energy, bananas can bring you both physical and metaphysical benefits. Some of these are obvious, and some are a bit more surprising. Let's get into it.

    Healing Properties of Bananas

Bananas are loaded with helpful vitamins and minerals, including potassium and magnesium. This is why they're known as a quick remedy for muscle cramps. This can also aid in heart health, as these nutrients can help to lower blood pressure.

They're also a great source of fiber, which can improve gut health. Their high natural sugar content can also be a great energy booster. Interestingly, they can also help you relax, as they contain tryptophan (the stuff in turkey that makes you sleepy). This compound also helps you create serotonin, giving you a little mood boost.

Banana peel has also been used in skincare, haircare, teeth whitening, and even as a folk remedy to relieve sunburn, poison ivy, and insect bites.

Magical & Spiritual Properties of Bananas

Given their shape, it's not surprising to learn that many of the traditional metaphysical properties of bananas are related to masculine energy. They are tied to the element of air, the planet Mars (god of War), and the astrological sign Leo, which is ruled by the Sun (traditionally seen as male). Dieties tied to this fruit include Buddha, which could be geographic, and The God in Wicca, which is almost certainly phallic. The chakras of this fruit are the sacral, which is about sex and creativity, and the solar plexus, commonly represented by the color yellow.

Use bananas to call in resilience, wealth, luck and deeper spirituality. It's also common in spells for passion fertility, and potency. This fruit can also be used in love and sex spells to increase sexual stamina in men. Make sure you are always working sex spells with a willing partner.

One fun fact about bananas that's not in any magical text that I found is that banana trees can actually move. Banana trees can "walk" up to 40 centimeters in their lifetime. I think this makes them perfect for a spell where you want to really surprise people by doing something they think is impossible.

    Witchcraft Uses

Eat or cook with bananas to bring their power directly into your body.

Add dried banana peel or banana chips to spell jars or charm bags, especially if you need a boost of masculine energy.

Use a banana leaf on your altar or as a "plate" for offerings.

Incorporate mashed banana into a magical face or hair mask.

Like I said, I don't care for bananas myself, and while my husband will happily eat a banana as a snack, he doesn't like banana flavored foods. So I only have a handful of banana recipes for you to work with. Of course, the most common way to work with bananas is just to gobble them up, so don't let the lack of recipes slow you down.

    • Chocolate Banana Muffins
    • Banana Macadmia Nut Muffins

I hope this has inspired you to work with the magical properties of bananas. The next time you need a big boost of projective energy, you can take in more than just vitamins as you eat your banana. How awesome is that?

I am amazed at how quickly things are manifesting in my life. Just hours ago I had the thought, I wonder what the magical properties of bananas are as my daughter ate hers. Now I am here at this article unintentionally. I don't care for bananas to eat but I'm about to use the peels in a simmer pot and then mop my floors with it.

can i use banana in an UNBINDING spell? (the peel). i am desperate and nothing else works. My body has been going through deformation from the black magic ON ME. the pain is unbelievable and intolerable any longer. i am further than tired and exhausted about it and no matter what i try i cannot even return it, remove it or UNBIND. i've been fighting this over a decade and even praying has failed me countless times. i think this could be one fruit (or herb) shes not expecting me to use so it could work and take her by surprise. Please tell me what you think.

You're a witch, and you can do what you want. The most important thing is how the spell ingredient makes you feel, so if your intuition is telling you to try it, go for it. I hope you find release from your suffering.
