These BBQ Pork Burgers are so simple but so flavorful. Juicy, savoury, smoky, and just a little bit spicy, you'll find yourself craving them all the time. Homemade burgers are totaly awesome.
Okay, so this post is definitely more kitchen and less magick, but I'm a bit of a burger snob. Not the super high end, grind your own expensive cuts of meat, freshly shaved truffles sort of burger snob. More the no frozen patties, soft brioche bun, all the sauces you could ever want, lovingly handmade kind of burger snob. I just want a burger that tastes really freakin' good. Is that too much to ask?
In that way, I suppose burgers are slightly related to my witchcraft practice. My journey into the craft has been all about believing that I am worthy of the things that I desire and that I have the power to make those desires a reality. That attitude of going after what you want can apply to anything, even a humble burger. You're worth the time, energy, and effort to create something truly enjoyable. Don't sell yourself short.
What makes BBQ Pork Burgers so awesome?
This recipe makes four burgers, but there are only two of us in this house. I knew these BBQ Pork Burgers met the threshold of awesomeness when I spent the whole of the next day thinking about eating the leftovers. The burger patty itself is very simply seasoned so that the pork itself really shines through. It's super juicy and tender.
But a burger patty on its own does not make a burger great. You gotta have great toppings as well. Add whatever veggies you like. I gave my husband lettuce, tomato, and grilled red onion. You gotta have a bit of mayo on each side of the bun to help prevent sogginess. But the best part is the bbq sauce and sriracha combo. You can really use whatever hot sauce you have on hand, but bumping up the heat level on your favorite bbq sauce really takes it over the top.
I also toasted the brioche bun with garlic oil for a bit of added flavor. Oh, and you might notice, this burger has no cheese. No, I haven't been possessed. The original recipe I based this off of didn't call for it. I thought, I'll just give it a try and see how it goes. I was very skeptical, but I didn't miss the cheese at all. This burger already has enough amazing flavor.
