Normally, Geoff and I are a team of two when we take the camera into a restaurant or bar to share with you, but when our friends heard we were going for two-for-one burgers at NYC Glasgow, they all wanted to come along. We had an awesomely delicious time.
Beyond it's amazing burgers and dogs, NYC Glasgow has an impressive selection of creative cocktails. I had the Roasted Toasted White Russian. It was dangerously tasty. I also noticed that they have cocktails on special for £3.50 during the week. There' so many ways to save money here. Is it any wonder the whole gang wanted to come out?
But you know we're in it for the burgers, kids. Let's see what everybody ate.
Up first is the Red Hot. Believe it or not, this is not Geoff's burger. Though much enjoyed, I think it was outrageously spicy. It's got jalapenos, pepper relish, and hot sauce. You've been warned.
Geoff's on a bit of a health kick, so he went with the Staten Island, which is a falafel burger. He must have loved it because he was completely finished eating before I even got more than a few bites in me.
Another friend had the Buffalo Chicken burger. I've had this before, and it was the thing that got me so excited about going back to NYC Glasgow. Though I enjoyed the burger I had, I think I'd definitely stick to the Buffalo Chicken from now on. The chicken is tendered, and they're not shy with the buffalo sauce.
The Philly Cheesesteak Burger is a mashup of the two classic sandwiches into one massive experience. Look at that cheese sauce, guys. Come on.
The Notorious P.I.G. is a bacon-wrapped dog topped with bbq pulled pork. I always have my doubts about a hot dog served on a baguette because I think chewy bread makes it too difficult to eat, but you're going to have to go at this with a knife and fork anyway, so I think you'll be fine.
The Santa Fe has some great Southwest flavor, and there are tortilla chips on your burger. I'm very pro chips on sandwich, so I have a feeling this was extra awesome.
I had the Manhattan, and it was delicious. The burger was juicy, and the accompaniments were well-balanced. You probably guessed that I removed the onion rings and gave them to Geoff. It was still awesome.
And somehow, after all this burger action, some people still had room for dessert. The sticky toffee pudding looked great. I'm hoping to get a chocolate peanut butter shake next time I go back.
With all burgers and dogs being two-for-one from Sunday to Thursday, I can't think of a single reason why you shouldn't go here for a mid-week treat. The food is great, the selection is impressive, and the cocktail game is strong. Definitely go check out NYC Glasgow next time you need a serious burger fix.
