These Cadbury Creme Egg Brownies are downright ridiculous. It's a total chocolate overload with everyone's favorite Easter treat embedded in each brownie. They're almost too awesome.
In some ways, I prefer to be subtle, understated, dignified. Peronally, I believe magick doesn't need to be big and flashy to be powerful. I like to drop little hints rather than slap people in the face. I prefer a slower, gentler approach rather than bold and daring enthusiasm. Except when it comes to chocolate. Or really most sweet treats.
My motto is the more ridiculous the better. If you're already indulging in something sugary and pleasurable, you might as well go all the way. Throw in extra goodness, extra sugar, extra chocolate, extra candy. Make your treat some truly awesome. Why hold back once you've come this far? I definitely don't mess around when it comes to sharing treats that are all the way over the top.
What makes Cadbury Creme Egg Brownies so awesome?
These Cadbury Creme Egg Brownies are already super rich and fudgy before you ever even sink half a creme egg into each serving. And of course, that means each piece is hefty and indulgent. No little nibbles here, kids. These are the most delicious kind of sweet monstrosity. Apologize to your dentist and your cardiologist, then go live your awesome life. This only happens once a year.
Whenever I make these, people's eyes get big and they're so excited to dig in. They can't stop thinking about them and they absolutely must eat one. Of course, if the classic creme egg is not your favorite, you could easy swap them out for a caramel egg or whatever is your personal preference. I love the classic, though. It takes me right back to Easter egg hunts with my little brother. And while I celebrate Ostara now rather than Easter, I will be making these brownies for the rest of my life.
Make it magical
How many times have you wondered what the heck eggs and bunnies have to do with the resurrection of Jesus? Witches know the answer. These symbols of fertility and abundance stem from Pagan celebrations of the Spring Equinox. Long before the Catholic Church spread Christianity around the world, people were celebrating the start of Spring with rites and feasting. Common symbols included things like lambs and baby chicks, eggs, and of course, the very fertile rabbit. In a brilliant PR move, many pagan traditions were incorporated into Christian celebrations, and now we almost can't tell the difference. Pretty cool, right?

Tips for making Cadbury Creme Egg Brownies
This is a pretty simple procedure. Start by melting together your butter and chocolate over low heat, stirring frequently until everything is melted. Then let this cool for at least 10 minutes.
In a mixing bowl, you'll beat together your eggs and sugar. You want to mix them until they're pale yellow and doubled in volume. There is no leavener, so this will give your brownies all the lift they're going to get, which is not much, as it should be. Then you can stir your cooled chocolate into your egg mixture.
Next, you'll sift over your dry ingredients and fold them in. Transfer your batter to a lined square baking pan and bake them halfway. Then pull out your half baked brownies and drop your creme egg halves in a 3x3 pattern. They'll sink in, and the brownies will set around them as you return them to the oven to finish baking.
These are very fudgy, so I think they're best served chilled, but you at least want them to cool completely before you attempt to cut them into 9 generous squres.
Make tese Cadbury Creme Egg Brownies and awesome new Spring tradition in your home. I assure you, it will be awesome.
