This Chamomile & Lemon Balm Relaxation Tea tastes beautiful and will have you feeling totally chill. If you're feeling extra stressed or having trouble sleeping, this is the herbal tea blend you need.
It's been a long season of chaos in our household since we decided to sell our flat in the city and buy a house in the suburbs. We secured the home we wanted to move into fairly quickly, then met one hurdle after another trying to sell our flat. But as I write this, we're less than a week away from moving day, and there are boxes everywhere. The walls are closing in around me, and my body doesn't like it.
I needed a ritual that would help me drop my shoulders, unclench my jaw, and actually get some sleep. Mental magick is beautiful. Meditation, incense, and crystals were all helpful, but I needed something deeper. Something that would undoubted affect my physiology. Inspired by my friend Tori of Spirit of the Ridge, I decided to make use of all the herbs I bought for spellwork and use them to make a tea that would help me calm down.
What makes this Chamomile & Lemon Balm Relaxation Tea so awesome?
This Chamomile & Lemon Balm Relaxation Tea is full of calming herbs that are proven to calm the nervous system and help you relax. I don't pretend to be a scientist, so you can go look at professional research if you're skeptical, but I know that magically, these herbs all promote calm, peace, spiritual connection, and self-love. This herbal tea blend is exactly what I need at the end of a long day.
I combine all my herbs in their proper proportions, then store them in a glass jar. I like to add honey for sweetness and also to attract peace. Simply scoop your dried herb blend into a teapot, reusable or disposable tea bag, or tea strainer and let it steep until fragrant and flavorful. You can use that time to meditate, lay down, or do something else that chills you out. And as you sip, your tension slowly melts away. It's absolutely awesome.
Magical Properties of Lemon Balm
The magical properties of most of the ingredients in this tea are well known. In fact, you can find details about chamomile, lavender, rose, and mint right here on this blog.
Lemon Balm is my new obsession. I learned about it when we interviewed Tori about Summer Herbalism for the podcast. This watery plant is ruled by Cancer, Jupiter, and the Moon and can be used to connect to your solar plexus. Associated with bees in folklore, it can be used in spells for focus and concentration when you need to get to work. Use lemon balm to calm anxiety, bring money into your business, and connect to past lives. (Source: Llewellyn's Complete Book of Correspondences by Sandra Kynes)

Tips for making Chamomile & Lemon Balm Relaxation Tea
The first time I mixed this up, I started with a small amount, using a tablespoon as my part. That let me try a few cups to decide if I liked it before committing to a huge batch. Now that I know it's awesome I use a larger measure so I can make up a bunch at once. You can also make adjustments to the blend to suit your own taste. You want this to be a pleasurable experience, or else it's not relaxing.
Once you have your herbs blended, you'll just add a teaspoon of the herbs per cup of tea you want to make. Use your favorite tea infusing device. For this, I like to go with disposable or reusable empty tea bags because chamomil can break up into very small bits, so it keeps me from having bits of flowers floating around in my tea. I also like to add honey for a bit of sweetness. You can skip the sweetener or use your favorite. Let the herbs infuse for about 10 minutes in just boiled water before drinking.
Finally, remember that herbs are powerful medicine on their own, so if you're on any medications, double check to make sure these herbs are safe for you.
I hope you feel a little bit less stressed after trying this Chamomile & Lemon Balm Relaxation Tea. Each cup will make you feel a little more awesome.
