I like things sweet. Whether it's cocktails, breakfast, or tea, I'm a fan of sugar. I also love to infuse that sense of sweetness into the rest of my life. I'm definitely not an overly cheerful person, but as a Sagittarius, I tend to look on the bright side and have a deep sense that everything is gonna be okay eventually. I think a bit of sweetness helps to temper the bitter or salty moments in life.

Some may call it naive, but especially since I've deepened my witchcraft practice, I just allow myself to believe that things will get better. I know that I have the power to change my life, and that gives me hope that if I stick with it and look for the opportunities for expansion, I'll find joy eventually.

What makes this Cherry Brandy Cocktail so awesome?

This Cherry Brandy Cocktail definitely brings the sweetness, but there's a distinct cherry tartness as well that keeps things in balance. Loosely based on a classic Sidecar, this cocktail is made with cherry brandy, Triple Sec, and cherry juice. I also like to make a sugar rim with chunky demerara sugar. It's pretty and extra sweet.

You could make just one drink at a time or easily mix up a pitcher of these to pour into sugar rimmed glasses to serve at a party. If you want to be extra fancy, you can make this in a cocktail shaker and strain out the ice. Fancy isn't really my jam, though. Do what makes you feel good. Either way, this sweet, tart cherry cocktail is sure to bring a smile to your face.

    Magical Properties of Cherries

As a stone fruit with a deep red color, cherries are definitely known for their fertility and passion energy. They carry feminine or receptive energy and are ruled by the planet Venus. Cherries are incorporated into many spells to attract a love interest, including tying a strand of your hair to a cherry tree as it blossoms to call in a lover. The magic of cherry blossom season also cretaes an energy of new beginnings, so consider using the blossoms in spells for a fresh start. (Source: The Magick Kitchen)

Tips for making a Cherry Brandy Cocktail

You can make this drink as simple or fancy as you like. Basically, all you need to do is combine all the ingredients with ice to chill it. You can strain it into a fancy, sugar-rimmed martini glass or into a simpler glass on the rocks if you like. You can mix up one drink at a time or combine everything in larger quantities, then pour over ice for each individual.

Use storebought cherry juice, or even a cherry juice drink. Don't stress about it. Let yourself have fun. The color is going to be gorgeous, the flavor is going to be sweet and tart, and the party is going to be awesome.
