    Cinnamon Ginger Tea with text

Despite having a triple fire astrological chart, I'm not an extreme person. Intense? Yes. Relentless? Probably. But I love to keep things more balanced and steady. I prefer equinoxes to solstices, quarter moons to full moon. The dead of winter is not my favorite. I really have to be intentional about creating joy and comfort in these cold, dark days.

So with every winter, I increase my collection of soft sweaters and Nordic socks. I keep candles burning as often as possible. I use my fireplace, even though it doesn't put out much heat. I throw a blanket over every possible seat in the house. I try to make it as easy as possible for myself to feel safe and warm. And I definitely have as many hot drinks as I can possibly manage.

    Cinnamon Ginger Tea

What makes this Cinnamon Ginger Tea so awesome?

Cinnamon Ginger Tea is warming not just because it's hot tea, but because it's full of fire energy. Both of the spices we're adding have their own gentle heat that compliments and elevates the black tea. A little drizzle of honey brings a touch of sweetness to each cup. I love making a full pot so I can continue to sip on fire energy throughout the day.

We're using whole spices here, so there's no silty ground spices to create an unpleasant texture. It's the perfect antidote to winter's biting chill. You could even fill a big insulated bottle and take it with you on an outdoor winter adventure.

    Magical Properties of Cinnamon

Cinnamon is one of my favorite spell ingredients. I always have ground ginger for baking, but I also keep a constant supply of cinnamon sticks for magical purposes as well. This fragrant tree bark brings prosperity, spiritual power, protection, love, and romance. With its fire energy, it can also be used as a manifestation accelerant. Use cinnamon to call in the heat you need to bring energy and inspiration into whatever you're creating.

And of course, ginger has an earthy fire energy as well. This tea is the perfect spell for motivation. If you're feeling sluggish, set an intention that sipping this tea will get you moving again. You can take it slow if you like, but the tea will gently warm you from the inside to melt away your resistance and help you accomplish your goals.

    Ingredients

Here's everything you'll need to make this tea. The full details are in the recipe card below.

    • Water - Always use cold water in your kettle.
    • Cinnamon stick - You're going to break it up, so this is the perfect time to use any bits and pieces at the bottom of the jar.
    • Fresh ginger root
    • Black tea - You can use loose leaf or your everyday tea bags
    • Honey - If you want a bit of sweetness

Tips for making Cinnamon Ginger Tea

There's nothing exact about making tea. You simply add ingredients to your liking. We want our final drink to be clear and smooth though, so I do have one tip. When you're breaking up your cinnamon and chopping your ginger, you want small pieces that will expose more surface area to the hot water, but not so small that they'll fall through whatever straining device you're using.

Experiment with how you want this to taste by adding more or less of each ingredient. You can also vary the steeping time. It will take much longer for the cinnamon and gigner to infuse into your hot water, so add them to your tea pot first, then drop the tea bag or black tea in toward the end so it doesn't get bitter while the flavor of the spices are being extracted.

In the winter, I want all the fire energy, so this Cinnamon Ginger Tea is definitely going to be awesome.
