This Cranberry Lime Mocktail is a delicious libation for anyone who is alcohol-free. It's ideal for the holidays but equally delicious at any time of year. And the color is just gorgeous. It's gonna be awesome.
I currently live in a country where the legal limit for alcohol when you're driving is zero. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that, but if you're hosting a party, it means your guests who are driving can't even have a single cocktail to welcome them when they arrive. This is when I start throwing together random things in a pitcher to make them a drink to feel special, and it turns out to be the hit of the party.
It's so easy to make sure all your guests feel special if you think ahead and plan accordingly. Something as simple as mixing together a few ingredients in a jug can elevate the experience for someone with specific needs. Not that we should necessarily be making completely different meals for every single person, but you just don't want anyone to feel like they were an oversight. Keep the vibe high but letting your friends know you really see them.
What makes this Cranberry Lime Mocktail so awesome?
I love this because it feels elevated but it's actually really simple. I randomly threw together this combination of cranberry juice, lime cordial, and ginger ale for my alcohol-free friends at a dinner party, and they absolutely loved it. It was completely on a whim, and now it's everyone's favorite. This mix is a bit tart, a bit fizzy, and a bit sweet. It's totally refreshing and the color is absolutely gorgeous.
You could also make up a pitcher of this mocktail to give people options. Maybe your gathering has a mixed age group, so the young ones can have the mocktail as is, in a cocktail glass to make them feel fancy. Then adults can add a shot of vodka or gin if they want to. You could even make this up as a white wine spritzer. If you have some frozen cranberries and fresh limes, you can add them as garnish.
Magical Properties of Limes
Limes, like all citrus fruits, have cleansing properties. You can call in color magick and use them in spells for abundance as well. Limes are tied to the element of fire, so call on them when you're ready to take action or experience a complete energetic cleanse. There are many traditional spells that involve bathing with limes or their juice, and this would be a powerful way to combine fire and water. You can also use this fruit to call in healing, love, and protection. (Source: Hearth Witch's Compendium by Anna Franklin)
