Easy Chili Cheese Dip with text

At this moment in my life, I'm all about simplicity. I'm open to accepting help from any and all directions. I'm letting the Universe know I'm ready to be supported, and I'm letting go of all my limiting beliefs around asking for help. Sometimes empowerment comes from accepting that you can't do everything yourself.

But that in no way means your life needs to be less awesome or delicious. Or that you can never return to moments of elaborate ritual or making things from scratch or being fiercely independent. Witchcraft allows us to be honest about our desires and to accept our needs. That's when magick can flow to us. So right now, I'm taking the easy way out wherever I can.

What makes this Easy Chili Cheese Dip so awesome?

This semi-homemade hot cheese dip is made with all store bought ingredients, and far from apologising, I'm actually going to say you're welcome. Because if you choose your ingredients well, you're going to get something unbelievably delicious. So get your favorite chili, your favorite salsa, your favorite chips. Then mix them together in about five minutes, and go do something you love for 20 minutes while it gets gooey in the oven.

This is obviously awesome for a party, so whether it's board games, sports on the big screen or a witchy movie night, everyone's gonna want to dig right into this dip. Communal dishes like this can be so great for creating togetherness. There's almost always laughter and joy between bites along with lots of ecstatic yummy noises. The original intention of the party is just an excuse. This dip is the party.

    Make it magical

Your cooking vessel can sometimes be its own magical ingredient, especially if you work with the metaphysical properties of the materials its made from. Iron, for example, is deeply magical. It was once thought to be the powerful, life giving menstrual blood of the earth, capable or creation. Metalworkers of ancient times were seen as magical practitioners, transmuting sacred Earth energy into powerful tools. So you cast iron skillet is actually a sacred vessel of creation.

    Ingredients

Here's everything you'll need to make this dip. The full details are in the recipe card below.

    • Cream cheese - I prefer to use full fat.
    • Chili - Use your favorite brand or leftovers from your favorite recipe. So whether it's veggie, no beans, or super spicy, get what you like most.
    • Salsa - Again, use your favorite variety. There are only a few ingredients here, so make them delicious to you.
    • Cheese - Because we're going easy on ourselves, let go of any guilt around buying already shredded cheese, and use your favorite type that will melt beautifully.
    • Tortilla chips - Get your favorite chips for dipping. Something sturdy.

Tips for making Easy Chili Cheese Dip

This honestly couldn't be easier. Spread your cream cheese in the bottom of whatever oven-proof dish you're going to bake this in. In a mixing bowl, stir together a can of chili and a jar of salsa, then pour that over the cream cheese. Finally, sprinkle lots of cheese over the top, and bake it until it's gooey and hot.

Let it cool for at least 10 minutes before eating, otherwise you'll burn the hell out of your mouth. This is possibly the most difficult part of the whole process.
