Enchanted Tea is a simple daily magical ritual you can incorporate into your morning routine to help raise your vibration for the whole day ahead. And it's all done while making your favorite hot drink.
Morning can be rushed and stressful. Getting yourself and maybe other humans out the door to start your day can feel like a struggle that triggers your nervous system as soon as your alarm goes off.
But as witches, we know how important our energy can be, and that the vibration we emit is the vibration we receive. That's why I've tried my best to slow things down in the morning and offer myself a bit of nourishment. It's not about waking up at 5 am and conquering the world. It's about giving yourself and extra 10 or 15 minutes to set your intention and get in tune with the energy you want to create. And one of my favorite parts of this morning routine is my Enchanted Tea Spell.

How to perform your Enchanted Tea Spell
This spell couldn't be simpler. I'll share what I do, but feel free to adjust it to what works for you.
- Put the kettle on and prepare your tea cup on your favorite way. You can choose a favorite mug if it makes you feel good (and why wouldn't you want to feel good). Add your tea bag or tea leaves (or whatever you drink) and any sweeteners you like to use.
- Once the water is boiling, pour it into your cup. Hold your hands on or near the cup so you can exchange energy with the tea.
- Take seven deep breaths, focusing on the energy you want to create for that day. With each breath, visualise each of your seven energy centers (or chakras) waking up and beginning to hum. By this time, my tea is steeped and I'm ready to remove the tea bag.
- Add milk or any other additions, then stir your tea clockwise in nine circles. If you prefer, you could stir in the shape of a pentacle or another sigil. Or both. whatever works. While you're stirring, call in your intention for the day.
That's it. It's that simple. If you're like me, you were going to make the drink anyway, but instead of rushing around your kitchen trying to empty the dishwasher and making your morning even more frantic, you've given yourself a beautiful mindful moment to help you tune into the energy you want to create.
I call this Enchanted Tea because I drink tea in the morning, but you can use this on whatever hot beverage is part of your morning ritual. Don't like hot drinks? Adapt it for whatever you do drink in the morning. As with any spell, make it feel good to you.
Enhancing Your Spell
If you really wanted to make this more complex you totally could. I'll give you some correspondences for different types of tea a little farther down, but there are other ways to enhance your spell as well.
- Use color magick with your mug to align with the vibe you want to create for the day.
- Select your tea and your mug the night before and create a crystal grid around it.
- Use moon water to make or tea, or add a splash of moon water to the finished product. I do the latter.
- Keep an object that corresponds with a deity you're working with in the cupboard where you store your tea things so you deepen that connection first thing in the morning.
- If you use loose leaf tea, you could practice your tea leaf reading after your tea is finished.
Tea Magick
We have a tendency to call all herba infusions tea, but black and green tea come from the Camellia senensis plant. And technically, coffee is an herbal infusion as well. Anytime you're adding boiling water to dried plants, you're making an herbal infusion, and each herb carries its own energy. Here are a few of the magical properties for more common "tea" herbs.
- Black Tea - strength, stability, expelling negativity, alertness, energy, courage
- Green Tea - healing, longevity, energy, love, lust, cleansing, prosperity
- Bergamot (added to Earl Grey) - money, success
- Chamomile - prosperity, peace, harmony, happiness
- Coffee - removes blockages, boosts energy, protection, grounding, happiness, lust, luck, romance, banishing
- Ginger - romance, prosperity, passion, power, protection from malevolent spirits, joy, success, healing, success, confidence, energy
- Mint - healing, purification, love, prosperity, abundance, personal power, motivation, new beginnings, personal renewal, psychic protection, release, decision making, resilience, fertility, joy, success, purification, clarity, cleansing, travel
- Turmeric - purification, protection
I hope this has shown you how easy it is to weave a bit of magic into your morning. If you feel like you're struggling to make time for your magick, instead try making the things you're already doing a bit more magical. Your frazzled nervous system and stressed out brain might try to tell you that you don't have time for even this, but I assure you that you can afford the two minutes it takes to do this spell.
Let me know in the comments if you've given it a try. What are your favorite variations on the Enchanted Tea spell? I'd love to hear from you.
