We're talking about dealing with racism this week on The How to Be Awesome Podcast. Our friend Elizabeth brings a unique perspective to this very important conversation. We're not perfect, but we're striving to learn and grow. Get involved and keep this conversation alive.
We proudly host our podcast with Buzzsprout.
We've got a special guest, good friend, and coven sister joining us this week. Elizabeth's audio is a bit patchy, but her contribution is awesome, so thanks for your patience.
Louise is being fed perfectly at Glasgow institution, Bier Halle. Elizabeth made Renee's Cranberry Glazed Turkey Meatloaf for the holidays, and Renee has far too many blog desserts, including some ridiculously large mint brownies.
Then we get into the nitty gritty, how to deal with racist relatives or friends. Elizabeth shares her experience as a mixed race person growing up in a white family and community. Renee and Louise discuss white privilege and systemic racism. We grapple with the subtle nuances of what it means to be a person of color in the world today and how we can bring more love into the world.
Then Louise is releasing all negativity from 2021, Elizabeth is trying to let go of society's expectations to have a spotless house, and Renee isn't listening to so-called experts anymore. Then Elizabeth makes everyone blush by saying nice things about Renee and Louise. Louise gets a new deck of oracle cards for Christmas, and Renee is loving The Power of the Dog.

I have a question for you. I just listened to the Dealing With Racism Pod Cast. Which I liked very much by the way. Here’s my question you mentioned Martian Luther King Day, it was some like this podcast will air just before Martian Luther King Day. So is this day recognized in Scotland?
Renee says
I’m so glad you enjoyed this episode. MLK Day is not a holiday in Scotland, but Martin Luther King is part of the school history curriculum, so joss work is well known here.
