Essential Oils Room Spray - Relax & Calm

It's so easy to make your own essential oils room spray. They're completely customizable and can bring a variety of energies and benefits. This one will help you feel relaxed and calm. Let's get into it.

Essential Oils Room Spray - relax and calm

Possibly one of the quickest ways to shift your energy is with smell. Your sense of smell is most closely tied to your memory, so the simple act of inhaling a specific scent can take you away in your mind to a whole new place. Aromatherapy and essential oils have been shown to affect your mood, as well. This is probably why I have little bottles of room spray in all my spaces.

The bottle of room spray that currently lives in my office is probably my favorite that I've created so far. It's designed to help you feel relaxed and calm, and boy do I really need it sometimes at work. If this blend of essential oils can chill me out in a noisy high school, I think you'll definitely love it.

How to make your own Essential Oils Room Spray

Making your own essential oils room spray is ridiculously easy. For a 100 ml bottle, you'll want around 25 drops of essential oils, a pinch of salt, and water. Some people use distilled water to make sure nothing nasty will start to grow. I can't get bottles of distilled water where I live, so I just use boiled then cooled water from the kettle.

Adding a bit of salt to the mix also helps the oils blend in with the water a bit better. Otherwise, you'll just get the oil sitting on top of the water. You could also use a tablespoon of alcohol for this, but I always have salt on hand. Either way, you'll want to give the bottle a little shake before spraying each time.

Essential Oils Room Spray with marjoram, neroli and chamomile

    Which essential oils to use

For this blend, we're using 8 drops each of chamomile, marjoram, and neroli oils. Neroli oil is expensive, but remember, with essential oils, you're only using a few drops at a time, so a bottle will last a while.

Each essential oil has its own aromatherapy benefits, and blended together, they smell like pure bliss.

Chamomile - We all know chamomile tea can help you sleep, so it makes sense that the oil would carry calming propeties. It is known to be deeply soothing and can relieve irritability, nervousness, and tension.

Marjoram - This herb's oil has a gently sedative effect that can lower blood pressure and heart rate, ease anxiety, and promote rest. Witches also use it as a protective herb.

Neroli - This oil is made from orange blossoms, specifically bitter Seville oranges. It is a source of calming, refreshing, and uplifting energy. Neroli has long been used as a treatment for anxiety and depression. It is believed to alleviate the effects of chronic stress on the adrenal, circulatory, and digestive systems.

So you can see how bringing these three scents together would be powerful for helping you to stay calm in stressful situations. People will have no idea what's making them feel so chilled. They'll just know your room smells awesome.
