    13 Herbs for Mars Energy

Mars energy bring us passion, motivation, and the will to fight for what matters. I've got 13 herbs for Mars that will help you connect to this strong and fiery energy.

13 Herbs for Mars Energy (with the planet Mars)

Mars is a distinctly masculine and projective planet. Named for the God of War, it symbolizes passion, motivation, and our willingness to fight for what matters. This energy can definitely be aggressive at times, but it can also spur us to action.

With intense fire, we can call on Mars when we need a burst of motivation to finish a project. It's also helpful when we need a shot of courage to follow what lights us up. I call on Mars energy quite often to help me get things done when I'd rather lie down and numb out.

    Top 13 herbs for Mars

Since you can't put a planet in a spell jar, one of the easiest ways to represent this energy is through herbs. Mars is naturally tied to anything spicy or with a fiery or burning flavor or scent. Being the most masculine planet, it's sometimes also associated with plants that have a phallic appearance.

These are my top 13 herbs for Mars because they're powerful, but also easy to find or commonly used in spells. Experiment and see what works for you best.

    • allspice - Use this spice powdered or whole to call in energy, luck, money, and virility.
    • basil - This plant can be used fresh, dried, or as an essential oil. Best known for its money-drawing abilities, you can also use basil for revitalising, initiation, business, and happiness.
    • black pepper - I frequently use whole peppercorns in my spell jars for their protective qualities. With a subtle but powerful heat, you can use this for inner strength and confidence.
    • chili peppers - You can work with this energy with a variety of ingredients from jalapenos to habaneros or even paprika and cayenne. Chilies are like energetic TNT, blowing a hole in any barriers in your path. They're very powerful, so I suggest you start small.
    • cinnamon - With a subtle heat, cinnamon can be used in spells for lust, money, and raising your magical vibration.
    • coffee - Whether you're whispering an incantation over your morning cup of using coffee grinds in spell powders, you can call on coffee to boost your energy, remove blockages, and bring luck and happiness.
    • dragon's blood - A common resin used in spellcraft, you can find this at your local witchy shop. Use it to increase potency and to aid in astral projection.
    • garlic - A legendary protective plant, you can also use garlic for passion and luck.
    • juniper - Whether you've got berries, essential oil, or even gin, use this herb in spells for truth, justice, and healing.
    • mint - A witchcraft staple, mint can be used to call in clarity, motivation, and resilience.
    • nettles - All too common here in the UK, this stinging plant can bring you healing and protection while dispelling negativity.
    • pine - Associated with purification, use any part of this tree to bring you fertility, regeneration, and new beginnings.
    • green tea - The green version of camellia sinensis can be used in spells for longevity, energy, love, and lust.
