This tasty Mudslide Milkshake blends Bailey's and Kahlua, plus a splash of vodka with your favorite vanilla ice cream. It's a tipsy frozen treat that will be perfect for a summer party. Let's get into it.
I was obnoxiously moralistic in high school. I never touched alcohol even though drinking in a field was pretty much all there was to do at the weekend where I grew up. This carried on into my first year and a half of college. Then somebody made me a mudslide milkshake at a party. That was the beginning of the end of my nearly 20 years of abstinence from alcohol.
I'm still not much of a drinker, though you'd never know it from visiting my house. My living room has a very prominent bar area with bottles upon bottles of spirits and mixers. I swear, though, it's all for the blog. Sometimes I have to remind myself to make a drink just so I can eventually get through all the booze we've collected. I keep telling myself I'm going to stop, but who am I kidding? I'm currently on the hunt for some creme de cassis to add to the collection.
This Mudslide Milkshake will always take me back, though. It's got both Bailey's and Kahlua, plus a shot of vodka, so it's fairly potent. You wouldn't know from tasting it, though. You could skip the chocolate syrup and the whipped cream, but I can't imagine why you'd want to.
I think this would be great for a summertime date night in. It's indulgent and fun, and there's plenty left to keep drinking after the milkshakes are gone.
How to make a Mudslide Milkshake
You know how to make a milkshake. Put stuff in a blender and switch it on. For this one, you're going to add one shot each coffee liqueur and Irish creme liqueur. Get whatever brand suits your taste and budget. I also like to add a shot of vodka, and if you happen to have vanilla vodka, even better. You might want a bit of milk to get to your ideal thickness. Scoop in some good vanilla ice cream and mix it up.
If you want to make it fancy, you can drizzle some chocolate syrup on the inside of each glass before pouring in your milkshake. A crown of whipped cream is always appropriate. I also hit mine with some store-bought chocolate curls that I found with the sprinkles at the grocery store. You could also just drink this straight out of the blender container. I would not judge you.
Make it magical
It's no surprise that coffee is a booster in many aspects. Add it to spells to boost your manifestation power, use it to boost your chakras, or inhale the scent to boost your overall energy. It has lots of metaphysical uses including happiness, luck, romance, grounding, and protection. Your morning cup of coffee just got a lot more magical. (Source: Plentiful Earth)
Some things are just too good to let go of. Take yourself back with a boozy Mudslide Milkshake. It's gonna be awesome.
