Often times, witchcraft is all about perception. We choose to believe things, even without proof. We choose to believe we are worthy of love, even when we feel lonely. We choose to believe that we have the ability to be rich, even when our bank account is low. We choose to believe that we are powerful, even in a world that tries to keep us down. The way we perceive ourselves makes all the difference.
And then those perceptions lead to tiny changes that end up making a big shift in our energy. We clean and cleanse our homes, even though no one's coming over because we know we deserve it, and we end up feeling more grounded, positive and productive all day. We put on lipstick as an antidote to feeling a little blue, and we walk out the door feeling fierce and able to face whatever challenges come our way. Little changes lead to big shifts, and that's magick.
What makes Nutella Waffles so awesome?
When we apply that theory to breakfast, we end up with Nutella Waffles. A simple, plain waffle that we've had a hundred times becomes something extraordinary with one simple addition. Yes, you could just spread Nutella on top of your waffle, but this is different. When you add a swirl of chocolate spread before closing your waffle iron, it caramelises slightly as your waffle bakes. It's like the crunchy bits of a cinnamon roll, and it is heavenly.
You could top these waffles with even more Nutella, but I preferred to just keep it simple with butter and a drizzle of maple syrup to let the caramelized chocolate sing through. If you wanted to take this more into dessert territory, some strawberries and ice cream would also make a great topping. Go wild and life out your waffle fantasy.
Magical Properties of Hazelnut
In Celtic lore, the hazel tree has long been associated with wisdom and inspiration. The story goes that the border between the human world and the world of the gods was lined with nine hazel trees. When the nuts dropped into the water, they were eaten by the salmon who then gained all the knowledge of the world. If a person ate the hazelnuts or the salmon who had fed on them, they would also gain prophetic knowledge and deep wisdom. (Source: The Present Tree)

Tips for making Nutella Waffles
These waffles are very straight forward. You could even use this method with your favorite trusted waffle recipe. The only thing we're really changing here is the Nutella. To add this, you'll want to put a few spoonfuls of Nutella into a piping bag or a plastic bag that you can snip the tip off of. Scoop your waffle batter into your hot waffle iron, then quickly squeeze a swirl of Nutella on top before closing the lid.
You can do a spiral, zigzags, or pipe on a sigil or symbol. You could even do everyone's initials in Nutella if you like. I find that five minutes it the perfect cooking time for my waffle iron, but each machine will be a bit different, so use your own judgement and experience.
One simple change can have a major impact. When you try these Nutella Waffles, you'll know exactly what I mean.
