Nutella Waffles

  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup corn starch
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/3 cup neutral oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup chocolate spread


  1. Preheat your waffle iron.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, gently whisk together flour, corn starch, sugar, baking soda, and salt to combine.
  3. In a separate bowl or mixing jug, add buttermilk, oil, and egg. Whisk to thoroughly combine.
  4. Add your wet ingredients to your dry ingredients and fold them together with a rubber spatula until just combined. Leave your batter to rest while you prepare your chocolate spread.
  5. Add your chocolate spread to a piping bag or a zip top bag and snip the tip off.
  6. Scoop your batter into your waffle iron, then quickly squeeze on some chocolate spread in your favorite shape. Close the lid and let your waffle cook for about five minutes until golden brown and puffy.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
