These Spice Cupcakes with Maple Frosting are perfectly sweet and so full of gorgeous Fall flavors. The tender spiced cake is topped with a gorgeous buttercream with a hint of maple syrup. These are most definitely awesome.

I love working with spices in witchcraft because they create such a deeply sensual experience. Whether you're crunching whole spices with a mortar and pestle of sprinkling cinnamon powder in the flame of a candle, the tactile experience is brilliant. But most evocative is the scent of the spices. Our sense of smell is most closely tied to our memories, so the aroma immediately brings up key emotions that can help bring your manifestations to life.

Beyond cooking, I love to use spices to create loose incense or for tea magic. My favorite though, is to use them in spell jars. Creating layers of brightly colored spice powdered is like making extra powerful sand art. They're so beautiful.
