How can Tarot cards make your life more awesome? Use these 78 insightful Tarot journal prompts to dig deeper and reflect on the life you want to create with each card.
Tarot is so much more than just fortune-telling. In fact, in my work as a professional tarot reader, I don't almost never make predictions about someone's future. With so much wisdom contained in a deck of 78 cards, you can go much deeper.
Tarot is a brilliant tool for self-discovery and empowerment. It holds a mirror up to you at an odd angle, showing parts of your subconscious and your higher self that aren't so easy to see. It invites you to ask hard questions and get real about what's truly best for you. I've seen Tarot change people's lives, not because it told them what would happen, but because it told them how to become the person who had what they really wanted.
Why should you use Tarot journal prompts?
If you're a solo witchcraft practitioner, Tarot journal prompts can be a brilliant way to dig deeper into what a card means for you. If Tarot is here to teach us what we need to live our best lives, then reflective questions are an accessible way to interpret that guidance.
Yes, we may be pulling cards to answer a question or solve a problem, but it's in the deeper reflection where the real magick happens. Journal prompts help you go deeper and really understand what that card needs you to know in the context of your life.
It can also be a simple way to enhance your journaling practice. If you have a goal to journal regularly, but sometimes you struggle with what to write about, let yourself be led by these Tarot journal prompts. What you'll uncover will be fascinating, and you'll find it's often exactly what you needed.
How to get started
All you need is something to write with, something to write on, and some Tarot cards. It can be hand-written or digital, on scrap paper, or in a fancy journal. It doesn't matter. However you want to process your thoughts is fine. You don't have to write in complete sentences or spell correctly. You don't even have to use words if you don't want to. Pictures and symbols can be just as insightful.
You can make your Tarot journaling ritual elaborate with candles and crystals and tea and music. Or you can keep it super simple. You may want to set a timer to start out with, or just let it flow. Make it feel good to you.
78 Tarot Journal Prompts
I've created a single journal prompt for each of the 78 cards of the Tarot. Of course, this is not the only question you could ask for each card. It's just one example to get you started. So don't be limited by what you see here. Use it as a jumping off point and let your intuition guide you.
