This Vanilla Ginger Mojito is absolutely delicious, with sensual and spicy vanilla ginger syrup and plenty of fresh mint. When you're ready for a drink that's extra awesome, this is the one you need.
Anybody who's ever been to one of my witchcraft events knows that I love to smell stuff. Scent is obviously very important in cooking and kitchen witchcraft. Obviously, you want things to smell good, but changes in scent can also help you know what stage you're at in the cooking process. Our sense of smell is often overlooked, but it's powerfully tied to memory and can be very helpful in magical practices.
So when I'm working with herbs in an incense blend or a spell jar, I always smell them as I'm adding them to the spell. It helps me bring the energy into my body. The scent anchors my mind to the metaphysical energies of the plant and instantly helps to shift my own vibration. The next time you're working with herbs in a spell, try sniffing them. Trust me, it's awesome.
What makes this Vanilla Ginger Mojito so awesome?
This Vanilla Ginger Mojito has a beautiful bouquet of aromas. Vanilla is one of my favorite scents in all the world, bringing up such an astonishing array of emotions. Fresh ginger takes me right back to my house in Hawaii where we grew ginger in our backyard. And of course mint is such an invigorating aroma. It instantly livens up any situation. The big sprig of mint in this drink is actually more than just a garnish. Breathing in the scent as you sip your drink heightens the flavor.
Mixed with rum and ginger ale, all these flavors combine to make a drink that's refreshing, a touch sweet, and so enlivening. There's just something about it that makes me want to dance to Latin rhythms all night long. You've definitely gotta give it a try.
Magical Properties of Vanilla
Whoever decided that vanilla was synonymous with plain had no idea what they were talking about. Not only is it a beautiful and complex flavor and scent, but it carries powerful magical properties as well. Use it to call in happiness and good fortune. You can also work with its sensual, luxurious vibes as vanilla corresponds to the element of water as well as the planet Venus and the astrological sign of Taurus. Sacred to Aphrodite, vanilla is also powerful in love and passion spells (Source: The Hearth Witch's Compendium by Anna Franklin)
