What to Eat for the Flower Moon

Wondering what to eat for the flower moon? From fresh herbs to ripe berries, this full moon brings a sweet bounty. It's gonna be awesome.

What to Eat for the Flower Moon with Lavender Cake sliced

The flower moon arrives in May at the height of spring as the Earth is slowly ripening. It's time to indulge in sweet berries, fresh herbs, crunchy salads, and edible flowers. Much of our ancestors winter stores would be depleted, so they looked to the early growth emerging in the light half of the year.

Let yourself be inspired by the beauty of the flower moon. Lots of flowers are edible, so whether you eat them in a salad, use them to flavor cakes, or make sweet floral syrups for cocktails, you can use the pretty little blossoms so prominent in May all over the place.

And of course, all those flowers are bound to attract bees, so honey is a great idea for this season as well. Whether you're drizzling it on your toast or craft a spell, make use of this powerful ingredient.

Spiritual Meaning of the Flower Moon

The flower moon arrives each May in a season of peak fertility and creative potential. We can take a cue from nature and use this full moon to shine a light on our own growth and creativity. Is there a new creative hobby you've been daydreaming about? Now's the time to give it a try. Feel like redefining your look? Go for it. You're free to be whoever you want to be.

This is also a great time for a bit of self-love and nourishment. Slow down and make sure you are pausing to appreciate the beauty in the world all around you. Indulge in soft and beautiful things. Create time for play and pleasure. You do not need to earn fun. You were born for this. Let yourself enjoy your life.

What's in season at the Flower Moon

There's a much wider variety of seasonal foods available, but we're still in spring, so some things are still ripening. Many of the flowers we're seeing will eventually become fruits, so we have patience and indulge in the freshness that's finally available again.

In terms of animal protein, eggs would have been abundant, but lamb was also in season in the spring.
