    June 21, 2024 Recipes

What to Eat for the Strawberry Moon

Wondering what to eat for the Strawberry Moon? Falling right around Midsummer, the possibilities are many. Make it sweet and juicy, just like the energy of this full moon.

What to Eat for the Strawberry Moon (with pound cake and strawberries)

The full moon in June is known as the Strawberry Moon, and it's probably pretty obvious that this is the time of year when strawberries are ripe and juicy and just begging to be eaten. This full moon usually arrives near the summer solstice when the sun is at the height of its powers. The days are long, the weather may be warm (unless you live in Scotland), and the living is definitely easier than it was six months ago.

Spiritual Meaning of the Strawberry Moon

The vibe for the strawberry moon is sort of cute and flirty. She wants to shine a light on the sweet things in your life and help you remember what all your hard work has been for. This is the moment where we can start collecting the fruits of our labors and really benefitting from the abundance we've created.

Look back over the past six months at all the hard work and effort you've put into creating your beautiful life. What rewards are you starting to see? How can you celebrate what you've accomplished? What worked and what didn't so you can do more or less of it in the future. Let this full moon shine a light on your victories.

What's in season at the Strawberry Moon

What's in season? Practically everything. This is the height of summer, and those spring flowers are starting to ripen into summer fruits and vegetables just ready to be picked and eaten. This would have been a time of abundance for our ancestors where food was practically falling on their heads. Abundance is not always guaranteed, so definitely enjoy the bounty while you can.

Be sure to check out what's in season in your specific area. You may even have your own fruits and vegetables growing your your garden. Take advantage of the variety while you can. Here are a few ingredients to get you started.

    Capricorn foods

In 2024, the Strawberry Moon is in Capricorn. This earth sign is associated with starchy foods, but it doesn't want to be weighed down on its ambitious climb to achieve its goals. Capricorn is represented by a mountain goat with a fish's tail. A strange creature, I know, but a great excuse to eat goat's cheese. Here are a few Capricorn corresponded foods to add to the mix

    • goat's cheese
    • onions
    • pasta

    Recipes for the Strawberry Moon

For much of the Northern Hemisphere, this is a warm time of year where you want your food to be light, quick, and easy to prepare. It may be hot in your kitchen, so you don't want to spend much time there. Luckily, this is a bountiful season full of bold flavors, so we can still eat really well. And of course, have strawberries every day if you like.
