My guess is that for as long as witchcraft and forms of money have co-existed, there have been spells and rituals to help people obtain more of the resources they need to sustain a flourishing life. Every modern spell book and grimoire has spells for abundance, prosperity, and money. Given how crucial it is to survival in our society, it's no small wonder that people would use magick to help them attain it.

Here you'll find various correspondences and materials to help you craft your own abundance spells. Get as creative as you like with how you use them. Also remember that you don't actually need anything but your own mind to craft a spell. These materials are here to act as an amplifier to your energy, but the magic comes from you.

If you're right at the beginning of your witchcraft journey, be sure to check out Witchcraft Spells for Beginners - Prosperity, as well as the podcast episode on how to craft a spell.

    Correspondences

Correspondences are the intangibles in your spell, energies like days of the week, deities, or colors that help you tune into the vibration of your spell. These often have materials that correspond to create a physical representation of the intangible energy. Start with the energy you want to call in, then look for herbs, crystals, and other objects to represent them.

    Timing

Spells can be done at any time, but performing them on a specific day, in a specific season, or during a specific moon phase can add to their power.

Abundance spells are best performed on a Thursday in honor of expansive Jupiter. A Sunday, with its vibrant energy of growth due to the rulership of the sun is also a good bet.

Spells to draw in money or other resources are best performed during the waxing moon.

    Deities

If you want to call in the help of a deity or archetype in your spellwork, these gods and goddesses can help you tap into the energy of abundance and prosperity.

    • Astarte/Ishtar - Phoenician goddess of sexuality, beauty, and healing
    • Bast - Egyptian goddess of joy, pleasure, and good health
    • Cerridwen - Welsh goddess of inspiration and wisdom, often depicted with a cauldron
    • Demeter - Greek goddess of harvest and agriculture
    • Frigg - Norse goddess associated with motherhood and fertilty
    • Hestia - Greek goddess of hearth and home
    • Isis - Egyptian goddess of nourishment, wholeness, and awakening
    • Jupiter - Roman god of abundance and expansion
    • Oshun - Youruba goddess of fertility, love, and sensuality

    Astrology

Each of the 12 zodiac signs has its own energy, and you can call on this energy to lend power to your abundance spells. You may use herbs, crystals, colors, or objects associated with the sign to represent its energy, or you may perform the spell while to moon or other celestial body is in that sign.

    • Taurus - With its need for deep stability and its love of the finer things in life, this indulgent sign can help you attract a bit of luxury into your life.
    • Virgo - Highly effecient and productive, the maiden of Virgo is also tied to harvest season and the gathering a grain, which is a time of abundance in Earth's natural cycle.
    • Sagittarius - Ruled by Jupiter, this sign is optimistic and freedom-loving, always willing to just go for it and hope for the best.
    • Capricorn - Ambitious and driven, the energy of the sea-goat will help you achieve your big money or career goals.

    Colors

Whether you're selecting a power outfit, painting your nails, or choosing a candle for a spell, color is simply the perception of the vibration of light. As with all things in witchcraft, your intuition is most important. So if a color feels rich and abundant to you, work with it.

Here are some of the most common colors traditionally used in abundance and prosperity spells.

    • Green - The color of money in America, but also associated with plentiful and verdant plant life, it's the color of fertility.
    • Orange - Tied to your sacral energy center, this is the color of creativity and confidence, including the creation of money and resources
    • Gold - An ancient symbol of wealth that's stayed with us for centuries

    Elements

All four elements can help you call in abundance in their own way. Here's how you can call on tem to help you create material prosperity.

    • Earth - Call on the fertile soil to nurture your seeds of abundance and help them thrive over long periods of time.
    • Air - Call on this element to help you connect and communicate with the people who can bring you new opportunities for abundance. Ask for the knowledge required to manage your resources wisely.
    • Water - Use water magic to help abundance flow to you in a steady stream.
    • Fire - Especially helpful in quick money spells or in finding the motivation to take action in your career.

    Witchcraft Materials for Abundance

Because this is a common form of magic, there are hundreds of different materials you could call on. I've decided to restrict my lists to no more than nine. I wouldn't want to overwhelm the novice witch who is just beginning to craft original spells. I've tried to select materials that I think would be easiest to find. If you can't find what you need, remember that clear quartz can be substituted for any crystal, and rosemary can be substituted for any herb.

    Crystals

Jewels have often been associated with wealth, so there are lots of shiny rocks that symbolize abundance. Look for green or gold crystals, and as always, trust your intuition. You can create crystal grids, keep a prosperity stone in your purse or wallet, or place on in the cash register of your business to draw in more wealth.

    • Moss agate - Its grounding properties will help you hold onto money for longer.
    • Green aventurine - One of the best known abundance stones, it's ideal for attracting wealth.
    • Citrine - With bold sunny energy, it can boost your confidence in money making endeavours.
    • Jade - A classic symbol of prosperity in Chinese folklore, it can also attract longevity and luck.
    • Pyrite - Known as fool's gold, this shiny rock creates a feeling of luxury.
    • Tiger's eye - With a mix of fire and earth, it gives you the courage you need to be bold while keeping you protected from harm.
    • Green tourmaline - Excellent for clearing negativity so you can tap into your self-belief to create abundance.
    • Turquoise - Common in prosperity magick, it's also a protective stone that can help you clear any anxiety around money.
    • Emerald - A stone of growth and abundance, it can help you be more resourcesful.

    Herbs & Botanicals

Spices were once amongst the most valuable materials on the planet, and many leafy green herbs give off abundance vibes. So whether you're cooking them, burning them, planting them, or putting them in spell jars, plants can draw in abundance like nobody's business.

    • Apple - One of the most ubiquitous fruits on the planet, this fruit is also tied to longevity and creativity.
    • Basil - One of the best money drawing plants around, it can also bring success and happiness.
    • Cinnamon - A powerhouse metaphysical material, cinnamon brings abundance as well as spiritual connection. It can also speed up spells, so it's great for when you need a quick influx of cash.
    • Cloves - This spice can also bring focus, courage, and self-belief, so call on it when launching a new business project.
    • Corn - With its many golden kernels, this grain has long been a symbol of fertility and prosperity.
    • Figs - Like many fruits and berries loaded with seeds, figs promise fertility and growth.
    • Mint - Nearly impossible to kill, mint brings a tenacity and resilience to your abundance spells.
    • Rice - A staple grain, rice has long been a symbol of fertility and prosperity, hence why it was traditionally thrown at weddings.
    • Wheat - With its golden stalks stretching as far as the eye could see, a good wheat harvest meant survival through the winter and bread for the whole village. Call on its abundance energy every time you open your flour canister.
